Stay here, not only for its great central location, but for the place itself, wonderful. Small enough to be personal, accommodating and make everything easy. A before dawn cooked breakfast, no problem. Helpful local in-site. The hosts are wonderful.

We’ve just enjoyed the most fantastic 2 days at RCL with the most welcoming, helpful & knowledgeable hosts in Bernie & Marie, that you could ever meet. Nothing was too much trouble, our room was fabulous, location perfect, recommendations of where to eat spot-on (and they were even happy for us to chat with them over dinner at The Cypress Tree) - can’t recommend highly enough & would love to return!

A good looking Lodge with beautiful rooms with seats outside and view on the spacious garden. A perfect stay for skiing and visiting the Tongariro National Park. The owners were very helpful in explaining the difficulties in walking tracks in and around Ohakune. I could borrow the golfset for a round of golf behind the house starting at hole 3. A relaxed stay with a hot tub and a sauna. For our next trip to the east cost Bernie had already some very good ideas.

Idyllic Mountain Lodge Resort Bernie and Marie were fantastic hosts and thoroughly exceeded our expectations. They're welcoming, friendly and helped organise our trip with fantastic recommendations for walks, food and mountain activities. The lodge is warm, cosy and clean with a cosy fire and hot tub at the end of a cold day. Bernies breakfasts were fantastic a continental start with a cooked breakfast after if wanted. We also got to feed the Alpacas and sheep which was a real friendly touch we enjoyed! Would easily book again.

Serene, peaceful and absolutely charming No words can describe the hospitality of the hosts. We had the most relaxing time here. The room was super cosy and immaculate. Such a lovely setting. It was better than most of the top rated hotels in the country that we have stayed at. Bernie was absolutely wonderful and so helpful! He was very welcoming right from the get-go.

The drive into the property through manicured hedges is a heads up that this place is kept in immaculate condition. The room was warm, modern, well appointed and very comfortable with a second access to an amazing lawn which leads onto an 18 hole golf course. The hosts have an incredible local knowledge about dining, skiing, mountain biking and tramping. We found their advice enhanced our stay and outdoor experience. The breakfasts were individual to our needs and plentiful in choice providing a wonderful start to each day. We loved our time here.

One of the highlights of our trip to New Zealand was staying at this lovely B&B! My husband and I stayed two days and two nights at this breath taking B&B owned and run by Bernie and Marie. They made sure we were comfortable and gave us so many wonderful recommendations for day time excursions. Their Sheep and Alpacas along with the neighbors goats were an added treat! The grounds are immaculate!

Outstanding Ruapehu Country Lodge! Ruapehu country lodge is set in an outstanding location with beautiful expansive grounds that complement the equally outstanding accommodation. Bernie and Marie are exceptional hosts who run this idyllic country lodge where you can either relax or test your endurance with the wide variety of activities in and around Tongariro National Park. Both Marie and Bernie are very active people and they have an absolute wealth of knowledge of the local area and what you can achieve, no matter what your physical capabilities are. Their rooms are very comfortable and warm with most leading onto a personal patio area within the amazing garden area. Breakfast is personally prepared to your liking and Bernie will spend unlimited time going though your day ahead to ensure you achieve the best from your stay. We stayed just prior to Cyclone Gabriel and the weather wasn’t great but with Bernie’s help, both during our stay and assisting with our route on departure, we had no time to spare and had fully packed days. In addition to your en-suite accommodation, there is a very large guests lounge, a hot tub, sauna, BBQ and the lodge grounds at your disposal. These hosts are truly outstanding and couldn’t be more accommodating and welcoming making you truly feel at home in their home. This is a great location and I would certainly recommend to friends and family.

Perfect gateway to the Tongariro National Park! Really great stay with pleasant, helpful hosts. House is set back off the road in extensive grounds. Modern, excellent furnishings. Also, by far the best breakfast we have experienced during our 6 weeks in NZ.

Great long weekend with lovely staff and facilities! Hot tube and sauna were excellent. Fire in the living room was very cosy. Alpacas on site that you can interact with.

Bernie and Marie were absolutely delightful hosts and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The property is conveniently located near to the various activities in the area, which made travelling to and from a breeze! Breakfast was also amazing, and with sheep and alpaca at the property as well, I can’t recommend this stay more!

The breakfast is super nice! Various choices and all of them tastes so good. The hosts are very friendly and kind, makes us feel like a home. We arrived late and they are so caring, helped us with food and heater etc. The animals are so adorable, and the garden is pretty - suitable for a morning walk. Really appreciate Bernie & Marie's hosting! We had a nice stay and hope we can go back and meet you guys soon. :)

Marie and Bernie are very nice people who have great local knowledge plenty of guidance around skiing hiking and mtb ebiking or cycling, trip planning is a breeze with their advice would highly recommend R.C.L. Hospitality was second to nothing they offered to make our stay better in so many ways. Well situated ideal for people traveling in a car. While we recovered from our hike in the hot tub Bernie offered to get us a beer from our fridge and our jackets and boots were sorted into the drying room. Perfect place for escape with the Wife/g.f or lads/girls. I forgot to mention we were vegan but they had no problem changing up the breakfast was yummy. Perfect access to activities don't hesitate to book. See you guys again thanks, it felt like we made some new friends so much in common. Didn't have enough time to experience the golf course just a walk out the back gate...now that's cool!

Beautiful setting. Loved the driveway, it curved between beautifully trimmed hedges. Loved the hens, free range on the lawn. Really appreciated the delicious homemade cookies, and the breakfast.

The breakfast was also exceptional, with many options in addition to the cooked breakfast. The room was exceptionally tidy and had beautiful views of the grounds.
